SAND BLASTERS
Blast pots are flexible blast systems that eliminate
contamination, corrosion and coating from almost all
surfaces. The portable systems create an even-textured
surface that improves bonding of coatings and can be moved by
one person. The sandblast machines contain
high-performance valves, piping and fittings that enable
optimal air flow and a reduction of energy to operation the
blast pots.
The machines come in models holding either 2 or 3 cubic feet
of abrasive with 15 minutes of blasting at either 80 psi (for
the 2 cu ft model) or 100 psi (for the 3 cu ft model).
Operators use a remote control on the nozzle to start and
stop blasting, and an equipped abrasive metering valve to
maintain and control media flow. In order to operate,
blast pots need a clean, dry source of compressed air to
maintain nozzle pressure. A 50 psi minimum is required
to pressurize the system and close the pop-up valve.
To protect sand blasting machine operators if control of the
nozzle is lost, the machine should have a remote control
system (required by OSHA) that interrupts blasting. A
CE type, supplied-air sandblasting respirator and abrasive
blast media suitable for your application is also
required. Operators of blast pots should wear a blast
suit and work boots, and always protect their eyes and ears
during blasting.
Always wear appropriate personal protection equipment when
operating machinery of any kind.
