SAFETY GUARDING
A safety light curtain protect operators from injury when working near hazardous machines. When compared to mechanical guarding, curtain lights offer greater flexibility and productivity while maintaining optimal safety. Without solid guards in place, curtains simplify any machine set up or maintenance. The curtains, which are made of photoelectric presence sensors, have several beams that are set closely together.
Light curtains are commonly used for finger or hand detection, or when the guarding should be close to the hazardous point of operation. They are often used to safeguard operators when working with power and molding presses, stamping and automated machinery during assembly. Light curtains are also set up as perimeter guarding around machines, robots and other equipment. The curtains detect workers when they are present in the machine “boundary”, and prevent hazardous motion.
HTE offers easy to use light curtains of varying operating distances in compact sizes and equipped rotation brackets for simple alignment. Curtain accessories, including lens shields and protective stands, are also available.
